Well I came with a school trip and it was a day like this and we didn’t see any mountains. So I came here without knowing that it was so beautiful. So the environment is a particular concern of ours and trying to stop single-use plastics. In our climate-change group we always start with good news because there’s so much bad news around. And I shall say, do you know, I talked to Jack Wolfskin and their clothing is made from recycled plastic bottles. I enjoy being out in really bad weather, it’s exhilarating. It is lovely. Any valley in the Lake District is lovely. It’s great to think you can get some really good waterproof stuff that isn’t damaging the environment, it’s been recycled. I do have concerns about the environment and one is the level of tourism which is great; it brings money in. But obviously then with tourism you get extra erosion, but also the rubbish and the plastic that people do leave behind. So actually if there’s clothing that can be made from recycled bottles that’s amazing, to be able to re-utilise that material. We’ve always liked walking, and to me, being outside and being able to walk is better than any gym from a fitness point of view, from a mental health point of view. I love seeing the changing seasons. If the difference is the recycled element that’s brilliant. It’s brilliant for Jack Wolfskin, nut it’s also brilliant for the environment as well. But also giving something back to the National Trust as well. The fact that some of the money will come back to a conservation charity is brilliant.
